Does anyone here know when the application for the class of 2017 comes out? Thanks in advance!

Early August if it’s the same as for '16

Do you know if they have the same essays?

Yes, and there is always a ‘topic of your choice’ option for the main CA essay.

Supplements are often the same, but some change from year to year depending on the school.

It comes out the first week of August every year. Feel free to start your common app essay early, because they generally stay the same each year (the “topic of choice,” perhaps the most popular option, is always offered). However, do NOT sign up and begin your app before that day in August when it officially comes out for the class of 2017, because they WILL delete all accounts and reset everything as soon as the new season starts. I’ve had a few friends last year and this year who thought they were getting a head start by starting their common app at the end of junior year, only to find that everything was gone on August 1. You don’t want that to happen to you. Generally, about this time every year, the Common App will release a preview of next season’s common app, highlighting (literally) the changes from last year. Check on their website within the next month or so for this to come out. But usually it is only a few tiny details that change. So you can even check out this year’s if you want to start compiling information (on a word document or something, not on the actual application website).

You can log in with a fake account so you can get the essay questions and supplement essay questions. I did this for D2 early last year application season so I can get a feel what kind of essays D2 has to write for a particular school.

Thanks guys!

@born2dance94 check out this link. Looks like they’re doing it a bit differently this year. https://www.commonapp.org/whats-appening/college-counseling/five-things-know-about-account-rollover
