Common App Credit Card Charge

Okay, my d finished the common app today (phew!).

But in case I was feeling too relieved, I got e-mails from the Common App folk confirming all but one of the charges to my credit card, even though my d showed me the completed application screen for each of them.

Should I be concerned? Does this mean one app (and I can't tell which school) didn't go through?

This just happened to us, too.

Congrats to your D! I believe it took a couple of days for the charge from one of the schools to show up on my online credit card statement. I think it was one of the schools that took forever to download D's application.

Well, I just asked and D claims that one of the schools didn't charge an application fee.

I'm not quite sure why -- she is on their mailing list and we weren't otherwise notified of this.

Edited to add: I just confirmed on the school's web site that there is no charge when applying online. So now I can relax.

You can check the school's website to confirm that; there are schoold that do not charge for electronic applications. My D applied to two schools that did not charge application fees if the CommonApp was used (Lewis and Clark College and Wellesley). It should be noted on the CommonApp if they charge a fee or not.

Edit: Cross-posted with OP. Congrats, you just saved a few bucks!

That's worth checking. I think son said one school's website (in the 'personal account' page said that we didn't send in a fee--though we paid online thru Common App).

It might be worthwhile to double check the schools through their websites. Glad you mentioned that; think we are doing to do that too (what's the point of knocking yourself out to apply early if they won't process app because of credit glitch?). Thanks for mentioning that.

First I checked the Common App info for the school, and it just had a blank instead of $0 for app fee (which still left the question open in my mind).

So you may have to go to the school web site to find out for sure.
