Common App deadlines

So, I just wanted to know. Should I send my application before 11:59 eastern standard time (est) OR my local timezone.
What happens if i send it eastern (i get another 14more hours ish, which i’d like to use), but that would be much after 11:59pm of my current timezone?

PLEASE reply if you know…also sorry for the bad grammar above. Im just kinda stressed haha. I’m ready to send my stuff, but i would like that extra time.

“The application deadline is at 11:59 PM of the stated deadline date in your local time zone.
Submission for all applications is displayed in Eastern Time.”

rip…so i guess it’s local timezone then

@kalons But the funny thing is the common app will show my submitted time in EASTERN standard time, so how will the universities know if I sent it after my (local timezone) 11:59 pm?

OR will the common app automatically not allow me to send it? I’m rlly confused…

just send it in by 11:59 p.m. according to your local time zone, lol.

Here’s the thing: just don’t let it get that close.

I always tell my students send it in a couple days before it’s due- 24 hours at the very least. Leave yourself a cushion.

Do NOT wait until the very last minute!!!

Today is already the last minute. Last week was the last minute.

Every minute you wait is flirting with disaster.

The Common App opened on August 1st.

You’re done with it; otherwise you would be working on it, not on CC.

RIGHT NOW: Grab a cup of coffee or tea. I’ll wait…

OK. Now proofread, from beginning to end, ONLY changing errors. Don’t rewrite or reword, except to fix a grammatical error.

I’ll give you half an hour, plenty of time.

So 45 minutes from now, hit SUBMIT. It’s too late to make real changes; you’re only proofreading for errors.

You’re spitting into the wind as it is; the more you wait the more likely it is that you’ll be on this year’s crying thread about computer glitches at the last minute. It happens every single year; only the usernames and excuses change.

As to “How will they know?”

Let’s just say that if they’re not smart enough to figure out the timezone where you live, then I would absolutely NOT spend a nickle of tuition money there!

You’re not the first kid to ever try this. Lots and lots and lots of kids have let this go to the very last minute (let me repeat: the Common App opened AUGUST 1. It’s now JANUARY 1. That’s SIX MONTHS ago!!!)

Stop stalling and hit Submit.
