I am applying to the University of Chicago. The deadline is January second.

I was planning on applying early action, and marked the circle for early action, and sent the Common App before the EA deadline. However, I was busy with school that week I decided to just apply RD and did not do my supplement.

Now, I have finished my supplement, but now I get the message "The deadline for one (or more) of your selected institution(s) and its related decision plan has passed. As a result, you are no longer able to submit an application for the selected decision plan to this college." when I try to submit it.

The deadline has not passed yet, I think the reason it does not let me submit the supplement is because they think I am still applying early action. Help please I have no idea what to do.

Also, I forgot to add that I called them about the change from EA to RD, they told me they changed it.

Ugh, something like this happened to me. I added a teacher, wanted a different teacher rec later on and they sent them all T___T ok my advice is all I could come up with: make sure all your U Chicago stuff is backed up via word or something, remove the school from your common app list then readd it. Then you’ll tell it to choose RD and it won’t be angry again. Best of luck, hope you figure it out!

Servers are loaded, im applying to C-Mellon, deadlines in 10 Secs, and uploading is dead slow

Honestly, I would call them tomorrow and explain what happened. Ask them how to handle it, then do what they tell you to. Since you told them, and now the Common App is blocking your ability to submit, I don’t think they will consider your application late. And… you actually have all day tomorrow to fix this with them. So don’t sweat it too much.

Deadline is tomorrow night… phew. I hope the admissions office is open tomorrow! Thanks everyone.
