The deadline for spring transfer applications is tomorrow, and for some reason, Common App has decided that my application is incomplete, even though all fields have been filled in. Specifically, it says that the field pertaining to "Parent 1" is incomplete, even though, again, all fields are filled in.

According to their help site (which isn't really all that helpful) this problem is one that has been reported before and is one the site is working on, but not fixed.

I have reentered all the data several times, cleared out all but the required sections, and even tried entering the information on a different computer, but nothing has yielded that little green check in the corner that I need. I would make a new account, but I have already sent in all the hard paperwork.

Has anyone also had this problem and knows a way to fix it? Seeing as the application deadline is tomorrow, time is kind of of the essence here.

If I can't find a way to fix it for tomorrow, is there any kind of work-around I might be able to get, especially seeing as it was the website's fault, not mine?

The parent info is not critical to your app. Is your Parent 2 section showing as complete?

To figure out which field within the Parent 1 Section is causing the trouble, one by one replace the entries in your Parent 1 field with whatever you’ve entered for Parent 2 and each time look to see if the change causes the Parent 1 section to become complete. That should help you identify exactly where the problem is originating.

In some cases the green complete check does not display even after you have answered all required questions in that section.

Please verify that all required questions have been completed.
If all have been completed, please clear a couple of the questions, then click the continue button to save the changes. Go back into the section, replace the answers, then click continue button.

I had a similar problem with the essay not showing up as completed. I tweaked info and refreshed like a madman but it seems like commonapp is going around slowly and fixing it by piece so i’d keep trying and hopefully they’ll fix it eventually
