<p>For the section of the common app where we have to elaborate on one activity, is it better for me to talk about a summer research internship which I will be doing this year since it relates to my desired major/college choice or should I write about running which I have been involved with since my sophomore year and have devoted a lot of time to.</p>

<p>Also, should I list Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track as three different teams or should I combine them under Track Team. I have been involved with the team since 10th grade and will be the captain of all three next year. </p>

<p>Hm.... I'd list xc and in/outdoor track because it shows dedication and commitment considering you've done it for 3 years now, as opposed to the summer research internship. plus, it reflects your ability to be a leader x 1,000,000. </p>

<p>Oh, and I listed spring track and XC seperately, but I was short on ECs. There are only like 6 spots for extracurriculars IIRC; don't distinguish between indoor & outdoor if doing so will displace another one of your activities.</p>
