Common App ERROR

I have submitted both my common app and the supplement. However, after doing research on many schools, I want to change the school I have applied to. Engineering->Weinberg. I mentioned the engineering school's name once in the supplement. So my question is, would it be possible to call them and ask them to change the school and a sentence on the supplement? I called them and it went to answering machine. Do you think I will be able to call through before deadline?

Did you mention engineering in an essay? If so, it might be a little finicky to change that (they wouldn't want to alter your writing too much)
The office is probably closed for the holidays, but keep trying (phone AND email) though you might not yet through in time.

S was accepted ED to Northwestern in Weinberg but is thinking about changing to engineering. His acceptance material told him he had until July to request change to another school. However, it may be that it is more difficult to get into engineering so it might help your chances to contact admissions to change your application. I wouldn't worry about doing it prior to the Jan. 1 deadline though.

honestly, id just wait till you get accepted, then transfer schools before/if you enroll

If the Engineering School is more selective, then all the more incentive to switch out. I plan to pursue an MBA after undergrad, so my undergrad major is not of utmost importance. Physics, Mathematics, Engineering are all possibles. The ever-popular Economics even.

My plan for Northwestern was to get that Kellogg certificate before graduation. However, after I found out that the MMSS program greatly increases ones chances, it only became logical that I would pursue it. Quite frankly, the job opportunities solely for MMSS students are amazing.

I would have to change the school that I am applying to as well as a single sentence in my supplemental essay I sent in. However, I attached the file instead of typing it out because it was a bit over the 1000 character limit. Additional comments?

^^^ i would just relax, you would have to apply to MMSS after you were accepted anyway, it's not worth the trouble of having them update your application in my opinion, engineering isn't going to be much more selective (if at all) than CAS

You can change your major through the application status screen on the NU website. If it's been a while since you submitted the application, you can go there, say you forgot your app ID code, sign in, and change it.
