Common app Essay 3 prompt. Could use advice!

The prompt is, "Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?"

I want to write about this, because a very significant turning point in my highschool career was the moment that I challenged my longstanding idea that "nothing is impossible" is false. Yet this is more of an essay about perspective, how I view things, rather than an action that was taken.

I did challenge an idea that I had held in my mind for many years, but I fear since it was a mental struggle and no real action was taken, I don't answer the prompt.

Any advice? And obviously, you can be honest, the most important thing is that I submit an essay that is effective.

Anyone? If it doesn’t answer the prompt I should start another one ASAP; I might anyway. Still, advice would be appreciated!

i’ll read it.

An essay like that could still answer the first prompt, if you’re unsure about whether or not it answers the third one. If it’s about a change in perspective then it’s something that’s “central to your identity” so you could still write about that subject.
