So, I've gone through an identity crisis trying to write this thing lol. Ive agonized over who i am and what makes me unique, over morality and the meaning of life. I still havn't discovered a significant experience in my life that summarizes who i am. Would it be okay to write about writing my essay and the questions it provoked?? thanks :)

Doesn’t seem like a good idea to me… too “meta”. Don’t look for the “big” experience, look for the small one that tells something. Things my kids have used successfully: story about befriending an unpopular kid at school, “secret” hobby that makes one of my D’s quite different from other teens, one that followed D’s early experiences learning a foreign language and later using it when traveling in that part of the world, one about a favorite EC and why it is her favorite (what drew her to it, what she likes about it, how it has changed her – giving some specific examples to liven up the essay).

I would not recommend doing this. I watched a video on Admissions from a top 10 university and they specifically mentioned this as something not to do, along with writing essays about boyfriends/girlfriends. Hope this helps! :)
