Common App. Essay and Personal Statement

<p>I've written my Common App. essay but only 2 of the 3 universities I'm applying to use the Common App. The other university uses their own app. and require me to write a personal statement. If the prompt of the personal statement fits the topic of my Common App. essay, would it be wise to submit the same essay? Has anyone tried this? </p>

<p>It’s definitely possible to use the same essay if the prompts are virtually the same. In fact, that’s what I believe many applicants are doing in order to save time on their apps.</p>
