<p>Is it a bad thing if my common app essay and my supplementary essay both pertain to events experienced in the same timeframe? I mean, I visited my homeland this summer and two different vital things happened to me--the concepts involved in each essay are radically different, but the time and place they took place are the same. Also, I use an anecdote involving children in both essays. Is this a bad idea?</p>
<p>I don’t know… I think it’s your own judgment call. You want to show as much of who you are as possible through those two essays though.</p>
