Common App essay length...too long?

<p>my essay is currently 760 words...i've cut down from close to 900. is this still too much?</p>

<p>Try to see if you can get it down to the 500’s-600’s.</p>

<p>It seems okay to me, seeing as you’ve already trimmed it down to the important stuff, presumably.</p>

<p>It still might not be all important… my first Common App essay draft was about 850 words. I’ve now trimmed it down to 620 (and am trying to get it even lower).</p>

<p>Good point. OP, maybe you should get someone to read your essay and tell you if there’s anything more you could cut.</p>
