Common App Essay Length

<p>I realize that for the main common app essay, no wordcount is specified straight off of the commonapp site. However, in Princeton U's supplement, it refers to "The 500 word main common app essay."</p>

<p>My essay is about 630 words, filling up a single page single spaced 12pt.</p>

<p>Should I be worried or make changes, or is this just a random number they pulled out of the air?</p>

<p>I believe the common app essay used to be limited to 500 words, but it was changed for this year. So perhaps Princeton just hasn’t changed their wording of that question. I don’t think you should be worried!</p>
