Common APP Essay Question?

Hey guys the short answer for the common app and the harvard supplement essay for me are almost exactly the same!!

What should I do? It asks for a meaningful academic experience in the short answer and that is also the one I am picking for my supplement essay.

And also, what should I put in the awards short answer? Just list em? Common APP confuses me :frowning:

Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Thanks alot…I truly appreciate it.

in that case i suggest taht you fill out the answer to the question on the common app. and ask harvard to refer to the common app. i mean, u can't help it right...they asked the same question!

if you are really worried then email or phone them about it.

i agree, common app SUCKS!! hahaha... they ought to come up with a more feasible way to fill out those online forms...ask for some advice from the UCs online form developer.

The short answer for the common app is this:
"In the space provided below, please describe which of these activities (extracurricular and personal activities or work experience) has had the most meaning for you and why."
It is not about an academic experience.
Your supplemental Harvard essay needs to be different. They don't want to read the same thing twice.
For the awards section, you just list them.

this is tough...because I have a long essay for my Harvard supplement whereas the common app essay is just a short answer....should I use another activity?

why doesnt harvard realize it has 2 essay prompts that are the exact freaking same?! grrr...

bump bump bump

NYU is worse. It asks how you decided what activity you put first on your list. I already answered that explaining which activity was most meaningful...

how do you plan on continuing your application jaina?

Rice does the same exact thing. I want to just say refer to the common app response, but I think I'll call them.

I was going to ask my counselor.
