<p>in that case i suggest taht you fill out the answer to the question on the common app. and ask harvard to refer to the common app. i mean, u can't help it right...they asked the same question!</p>

<p>The short answer for the common app is this:
"In the space provided below, please describe which of these activities (extracurricular and personal activities or work experience) has had the most meaning for you and why."
It is not about an academic experience.
Your supplemental Harvard essay needs to be different. They don't want to read the same thing twice.
For the awards section, you just list them.</p>
<p>this is tough...because I have a long essay for my Harvard supplement whereas the common app essay is just a short answer....should I use another activity?</p>
<p>NYU is worse. It asks how you decided what activity you put first on your list. I already answered that explaining which activity was most meaningful...</p>
