<p>I'm a terrible editor for length to begin with, but as I look at my common app essay, there's really nothing I can take out without reducing the overall impact.</p>
<p>Right now, it's at 1128 words. I've had people read it and say it wasn't laborious or boring to read, but I don't want to take my chances with admissions officers. Should I cut it down, or is it fine the way it is?</p>
