1) My essay is 625 words and I've already trimmed it extensively. I could pppproobably trim it more if I have to but I really like the way it turned out at this length. Is the 500 word limit a hard cutoff? Or is this okay?
2) Is anyone willing to read and critique it for me? :) I just finished it and I'm not sure if its a worthy essay!

sure i’ll read, pm to me

Abide by the cutoff.

It’s not 500ish.

If you have to, pick a new topic or start all over. Sometimes it’s easier than editing.

Think of the limit as a test of your ability to follow guidelines. Your ability to self-edit and still have an effective piece. Your confidence that you don’t need every single word and every darned detail. What you think is crucial probably is expendable.

I completely understand the idea of following directions and I’m going to continue to trim, hopefully i can keep the concept of my essay intact! Thank you :)

Well, I got it down to 503 words, if anyone is willing to read it please let me know!

I’ll critique it for you. PM me.
