Common App Essay

Well I decided to do a slightly unconventional essay...about me writing my essay...and its actually working out quite well so far
but i have some questions
first of all

title?
should we have one?

also, is directly adressing the admissions officers at the end ok?
can i say something like "I ask you to help me. Thank You." if it fits in with the rest of my essay

is it fine if i write in present tense?

will they mind if the last part of my essay gets a little philosophical

bumpy bump.

Title – I would have one

Direct address – I would avoid it, just because it’ll probably be cheesy and badly done. If you have a clever way of doing it, then sure.

Present tense – why not?

Philosophical – as long as you aren’t trite or attempt to be overly profound

Really, there are no rules. Just make sure that it’s creative and well-written and you should be fine.

That’s actually quite cliche…I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I thought better of it, because the purpose of the essay is for the colleges to learn more about who you are as a person…And not learning that you can’t type up an essay and that you rant about it and try to turn that in itself into the essay.

Trust me…I’d redo.

I agree with Litlhurry, this is a very bad idea. Would you do this for a job interview?

X3 not a good idea. work with other ideas.i’ve already written opening paragraphs for 10+ different ideas and i think i found something that might work
