Hello dear fellows! Im an international student who has no idea about common app essays. I have the idea to write about MUN (model of united nations) session and how i prevailed there. Is this a good theme to write about? Can you share your essays or send them PM? Would be more than thankful!

Wrong forum but I’ll bite anyways. That could certainly be a pretty good one. Writing about how you effectively played the role of a statesman and successfully advocated for your country you could highlight your people skills, determination & ambition, ability to compromise, and of course your love for academic ECs.

I’ll have a few sample essays up soon on [The App Style - A College Application Guide](http://www.theappstyle.com)

There are some student-submitted examples here - [College essay samples written by teens](College essay samples written by teens | Teen Ink) .

It can be a hit or miss, but at least there’s a lot of them.

Harry Bauld’s - On Writing The College Application has a few more.

Your model UN session could work, if something eventful happened that is.

As an international student you should highly consider writing about your personal life. Admissions can be curious about your background since they are predominantly American-born. Catching their interest early on can only help you.
