<p>Right under the space provided for the essay (within the common application), there is space for "Additional Information/Explanation". What should I use this for exactly? Does this have to be in "formal" essay format? How have applicants used this before? And, do I have to use this space to explain myself or is it just strongly recommended that I do?
Also, the Johns Hopkins supplement (in addition to the common application) states:
"Students applying to Johns Hopkins using the Common Application plus the Johns Hopkins supplement must submit the Common Application essay; submission satisfies the Hopkins essays requirement. However, the Admissions Committee welcomes the chance to read additional essays on the following two topics.."</p>
<p>Does this mean that I do not necessarily have to write two more essays (in addition to the Common Application essay)? I will probably end up writing the two essays (three total-- one from the Common App.), but what if I'm just not satisfied with one of the Hopkins-specific essays that I wrote? Am I allowed to just submit the Common App. essay and one Hopkins supplement essay? Thanks guys and sorry if this is too long!!</p>
