For the activities essay I've written two different ones but I'm not sure which to use.

The first is about lacrosse but is really introspective and focuses on why I personally chose the sport rather than what I actually did playing lacrosse.

The other one is about this program of which i was ambassador that focuses on providing affordable housing for low income families and its more straight forward like a "i did x,y, and z in this activity and this has broadened my horizons" thing.

So basically artsy introspective vs straightforward accomplishments. Which one should I use?

It depends on what type of general image you want to present. Assuming that both essays are equally well-written, I think I’d go with the first option.

Extracurriculars are about pursuing what you love to do, not for accomplishments. Assuming both essays are about equally well written, the first one shows more about you and your connection to lacrosse. There are thousands of students who are ambassadors of certain programs. They had achievements, learned from their experiences and helped others in their own ways. So did you. How does this make you stand out? Of course, if your experience as an ambassador was very unique, then that’s another story. I’m just saying that the first one emphasizes what admissions officers want to know - you.
