Hi, I'm new here and am transferring from a CC. In regards to the Common App extracurricular activities short answer, I didn't quite know what to write or how it should be written with the character limitations placed on it. Would someone look at it and give recommendations, and tell me if it answers the question and any other suggestions?

Thank You!

It was only me that night. The room I was in was small, made even smaller by the well-worn equipment within it. It had an odor of sweat, blood, and metal. Feeling the beads of sweat roll down my face, I took off my shirt to wipe them off before my final attempt. I heard the stopwatch ring, laid myself down, and lifted the bar off of the supports. As the bar dropped, only one thought ran through my head: “You can push it up; you got it.” I heaved, breathing heavily as my muscles strained to lift the bar. Slowly, it rose to the top. At the top I cheered from within. I had hit a new personal record. There was no shortcuts or cheating. I had to work hard for it. Lifting is a long term sport, one where you will not see results right away. My perseverance through the pain, the sweat, and the fortitude I showed taught me something. It taught me that no matter the task, never give up; that I must fight through it, and that I know I can achieve anything if I just “push.”
