Common App Forms

Why are the forms not available to download? I understand that the common app is an online-only application now. But my teachers want to fill the evaluations on paper and send them by regular mail. Can't they do that?

You should still invite your teacher online through the common app site (or through Naviance or whatever procedure applies at your school), even if he/she plans to submit recommendations by mail. When you invite a teacher, the teacher will immediately get an email which includes the option to submit electronically or by mail. If the teacher opts out of submitting electronically, that option will apply to all students he or she recommends this year, not just you. Once the teacher clicks the link to tell the common app they are opting to submit by mail, you will then be instructed by the common app to access hard copies of the recommendation forms within your account and provide them to your teacher for completion and mailing.

This year’s new “smarter” common app apparently doesn’t provide a hard copy for download until your teacher opts out of submitting electronically.
