Common App Help!

<p>Hey guys!</p>

<p>So i'm finally applying to college this year and it's honestly, a very frightening experience. Being the first in my family applying to college in the USA and my parents both went to college out of the country, we're all relatively dumbfounded by this application process. </p>

<p>I do understand the common app, but I've been reading around it seems that people have started the common app essays and the overall common app. However my question is that, if the common app comes out August 1st, how are people already working on the common app?</p>

<p>I see the common app essays, but i was wondering if we will be able to pick and choose the essay topics, or do we have to write all 5?</p>

<p>People are probably starting to work on the common app by getting a headstart on the essays and figuring out what to put for the various parts of the common app. You don’t technically “need” an account to get started since you already know what’s on it. Then, on aug 1, when it comes out, you can make an account and just put in all the info you prepared beforehand. </p>

<p>Anddd for the essays, you can pick just one :smiley: But there are normally essays on the supplements for each college so definitely expect to write more than one essay :D</p>

<p>As per the web site <a href=“https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/default.aspx[/url]”>https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/default.aspx&lt;/a&gt; the common app for 2013-2014 will not be available until August 1. Don’t get a head start just yet, those essays will most likely change. My understanding is the new app is different.</p>
