Common App Honors

So for the Honors section of the Common App, should I put that I am going to be one of the valedictorians for my class even though it technically hasn't been announced yet? Valedictorians get announced at the end of my first semester, and my GPA along with how I'm doing in my current classes shows that I am going to be one. Will it hurt me if I write that and the school I'm applying for finds out the the valedictorians haven't actually been chosen yet? By the way, the school is Northwestern.

Also, on a side note, being a valedictorian at my school is honestly very easy compared to most other schools. You have to get 40 A's, 12 of which need to be in honors classes, in your first 7 semesters. Will it seem less impressive that I'm a valedictorian with these requirements, or will they probably not even check the requirements my school has to be one?
