Common App - Indenting

After copying and pasting into the text field on the online common application form, should we get rid of the indents and use line breaks between paragraphs, or keep them and not use the line breaks, or do both?

Also, for the topic, if I choose "topic of your choice," should I just write the topic in the text box before my first paragraph?

Thanks!

Don't indent and don't write a topic. Just write an essay!

then how will they know what my topic is?

I would not indent, but put double space between paragraphs. I would think a title is not a bad idea, but make sure the essay stays on one page when printed out (if possible). You cannot bold the title, so some really rushed adcom may take it as your opening paragraph.

Your topic should be obvious from the content of your essay...

^^ Yeah, but they might want an idea of what you're writing about. Anybody else? bumpp.......
