Common App is now submitted

<p>I haven't posted in a long time. But wanted to thank everyone that has given us advice over the past year. My daughter finally made her decision on schools that she felt good about and has submitted the common app.</p>

<p>We had a light bulb moment about her school regarding recommendations and about them not sending many kids to top schools and most kids staying in state. Teachers are happy to write rec's for her and they are not swamped with requests from other students. Now just to stay on counselor to make sure everything goes out on time and correctly.</p>

<p>Her final list :
University of Wisconsin (Madison)
Macalester
University of Chicago
Kalamazoo
Scripps
Tufts
Washington University St. Louis</p>

<p>Macalester seems to have become a favorite. One of her teachers writing a rec is an alum there and says she is in...lets hope he is right. Just need financial aid to make it a reality and she knows that. We are visiting tomorrow and she is looking forward to it. Could be kind of interesting though...we learned that Michelle Obama will be speaking there tomorrow so should be a busy day.</p>

<p>Congratulations! As a class of 2008 parent, I'm impressed. Now your family can sit back and enjoy the rest of the fall. UW Madison has rolling admissions, right?</p>

Thanks, that means alot coming from someone that has been through this. Sometimes it felt like we would never hit this point. She still needs to complete her supplemental music CD but that is something she will completely enjoy lol
Yes UW Madison is rolling admission..so she will feel good having that one done.
