AH! I just realized I, for some stupid reason, put I was a National Merit Semifinalist when I'm actually just commended. I already sent in my apps to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. What do I do? Will they question my integrity (I mean, seems pretty stupid to lie about awards they can check up on) or can I contact them and tell them about my mistake? :(

They could question your integrity since it is easy for them to look that up. You can write their admissions and let them know of the error. If you have anything else good that has happened since you submitted, you could also tell them about that to balance it out.

Hopefully you also have some safeties as the Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. path is never a sure thing.

Yeah, I am worried they think I lied- which is stupid, why would I lie on something they can so easily look up? So it seems pretty obvious (at least to me) that it was a mistake. I already wrote to the admissions offices and I’m just waiting for a response. Hopefully when they see that correction it won’t lower my chances or something.

Yeah, I have some safeties- I contacted them too.

Haha, don’t worry about it kid.

Why would they think you lied if you already sent them an e-mail telling them of your mistake?

You’re fine. They won’t question your integrity.
