Hey guys! I submitted my Common App to Brown on October 28th. The Common App website clearly says that my application was submitted and downloaded on the 29th. However, on the 30th I received an email from Brown:

“With the Early Decision application deadline approaching, we wanted to let you know that we have not yet received your Common Application. It is due November 1st. We do have your Brown Supplement to the Common Application, but we need the Common Application form itself in order to complete your application. If you believe you had already submitted that form, please login again to the Common Application site to double check that it is recorded as having been sent.”

Common App says it was received, yet my account at Brown to monitor the status of my application does not yet have the application marked as received. I did contact Brown via email and they said that it could just be a delay due to volume. Thoughts?

I believe that they're right - it's most likely delayed due to being clogged up with all those other submissions. I submitted my commonapp on the 31st (commonapp says so) but Brown says they received it on November 5th. I'm guessing and hoping I'll still be up for ED consideration and that they'll understand that the apps were just downloaded slowly. I hope this is the same for you. good luck

Yeah, that would make sense. It is curious that yours, submitted after mine, would be processed first, though. That's the only thing that makes me a little nervous that its just sitting somewhere or floating around cyberspace :p.

I had sent my Supplement and CommonApp both on the 31st and even though they had the Supplement it looked as if they didn't have the CommonApp. They filed it with all the rest of my stuff that I had sent through mail on the 5th of November.

So don't worry about it. If CommonApp says it's "Downloaded" you should be fine =)
