Common app not working; cant apply to stanford?

Hey, can anyone submit apps right now?
I have the perfect character length (-3 characters) for the 3 supplements but it says i'm over? what's going on?

Did you count spaces and carriage returns? (A carriage return might count as two characters, not one, depending on how the commonapp.org folks wrote their program.)

Okay, i’ll check that thanks

EDIT: it’s not working

If it says “-3 characters” it means you’re over by 3 characters. Common App will not send unless you have right/less number of characters.

no i meant I’m 3 under the max

Is there like a line-limit?

Need help!!

Hasn’t the deadline for Stanford passed? Like I know the button usually works after 45 minutes or an hour, but are you sure it’s not too late?

Maybe relaunch your browser and try again?

@iMac15 - Stanford’s deadline is 11:59pm PST

Err…gosh. I guess you can try logging out and logging back in? Repasting the essays? I’m not sure what else you can do. =/

I’ve tried all of them. It’s not working!

Another thing:
If there’s a different error with a different part of the application (ex> i remvoe the 5 words thing) it works perfectly!

That sounds very strange. About all I can suggest is to cut something from each of your responses that’s the perfect length or close to it – maybe the Javascript that checks character length is buggy.

yeah turns out that was the case.
I had to run to a friend’s house to use her computer. Firefox messed it up!

So you got it in, right? Great job! I was worried about you for a while there, but glad to hear this good news. Good luck with the decision!

…And it says that I have sent it in on 1/2/09!!!
Does the support ticket help at all?

Yes, hold onto your evidence of filing a support ticket. BUT read the thread below, and relax. Long story short: If commonapp.org accepted your submission and didn’t bounce it with a “deadline has passed” message, you shouldn’t have any trouble. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/common-application/628753-freaking-out-submitted-12-05-am.html</a></p>

Common App site is in EST.

That happened to me too. I had a nervy b, and then said “screw it” and erased half of my last sentence of the one that supposedly was(n’t) over. Haha. It still makes sense though. Stupid common app…

Okay, i got e-mail confirmation! Crisis Averted!

w00t! Now get admitted! :D
