I am from a country , where teachers are not well versed with online recommendation and stuff. Therefore I need to take my laptop to school and sit with my teachers so that they can fill my recommendation

Trust me , I dont have any control on what they write , I just help with the online part

The thing which bothers me is I saw that Common APP notes IP Address of all the users as well as timestamps etc. and colleges may even ask for it from school
I am using the same laptop for my common app as well.

So IS IT VERY RISKY TO DO this??
I mean what should I do??

IP address is not unique to a single computer. The IP you will use at your home will be different from the one at school. IP is just an address of a network, not a personal computer. School has its own wifi and you have your own.

But I will be taking my dongle with me , since my school does not have wifi facility ?

Now What should I do?

It does not matter at all. If anything, you worry more about MAC address instead of IP address as the latter can be changed. If you still worry, use a proxy or VPN.

Of all the things to worry about when applying for college, the IP or MAC address of the computers sending in the documents surely has to be near the bottom of the list.

This only becomes an issue if they suspect fraud. If you aren’t doing anything fraudulent, or that seems fraudulent, they aren’t going to check this on a routine basis.
