Hi everyone!
I am trying to fill out the first section, Profile, and have made sure all the information is filled out, but for some reason, there is no green check mark because the "Language" section does not have a check mark even though I answered all the questions. Anyone else having this problem?

Also, I was trying to copy and paste my 649 word essay in from Microsoft word and when I pasted it in, the formatting was an absolute disaster! I tried manually fixing it but halfway though this fix, I noticed the word count was at 999 words. How is that even possible?

Please help me! I am very frustrated with this new app. Thanks!

don’t copy paste the words. just write it again. The common application this year seems ugly as hell.

I’m having the same problem with the Language not checking off!

As for the essay, the new (and dumbest, most ludicrous) rule that Common App made this year is that you’re only allowed one paragraph break. It’s stupid for us and terrible for the admissions committee that must read big blocks of text with no breaks.

The Common App now automatically deletes what it deems “extra spaces” (I tried hitting the spacebar three times to indent–no luck) and makes the entire text just mumbled together.

Had the same problem with no green check marks. I removed English as my language, left the field blank, and clicked continue. Then I went back, re-selected English, and hit continue. Now the check mark is there. Hope this helps.

@Disantis, that worked, thank you so much! I managed to copy and paste it by using wordpad instead of Microsoft word but its just one big block. Guess there isn’t much I can do about that, but hopefully they will change it!
