How does the application process work? My D is applying to 7 schools on the Common App. They all show up on her Naviance. The teacher rec's are in. She sent the College Board scores (non-Rush) last Friday morning. She's still putting the finishing touches on her essay. And she hasn't yet done any supplements for her common app schools.

Within two hours of notifying the SAT folks of her college choices, she had received communication from all but three of them. The College Board said it'd take 2 to 5 weeks for the schools to get her scores so were those emails coincidence? By Wednesday of this week, every single one of the 7 schools has contacted us by phone or snail mail. We figure that can't be a coincidence and that the colleges by this time have certainly received the scores.

This morning, she got an email from one institution that thanked her for including their school on the Common App and instructing her not to bother with their supplemental essay unless she wants merit. How do they know she has them on her Common App since she hasn't yet sent it off? Are they just making a safe assumption based on her sending her SAT scores or do they have some communication from Naviance?
