I am answering the following prompt:
We are interested in learning more about you. Please respond to the prompt below with a response of no more than 200 words.*
The University of San Francisco’s Jesuit tradition emphasizes community engagement and education for social justice, inspiring our students to become passionate agents for others. How do you see yourself becoming a part of this mission?

I just finished answering this question. I included my religion which is Sikhism and how I empowered Asian youth through my religious values. I included my experience growing up and I addressed different social justice issues and how I will continue to do this. Should I avoid mentioning my religion? I have been told before to avoid discussing my religion in college essays by teachers.

I think you’ll be fine. A Jesuit university won’t be bothered by a mention of your religion and it’s appropriate given the prompt.
