On the EC section, can I be general and just list my activities like say...

Math
Violin
Tennis
Academic Team
Latin

Then I list the major awards/positions I had in each of those and will explain each in more detail in an attachment/resume.

Can I be so general?

If so, how do I fill out hours/week even though it really fluctuates throughout the year?

Thanks!

I think maybe a little more specific than that. Math as in math team? club? for fun? Violin as in orchestra or just playing? Latin as in what?

You're suppose to list positions on the EC section as well. You can always elaborate in the additional info section (some schools don't want resumes so check with your schools).

You would fill in the average hours/week spent throughout the year. Say you spend around 4 hours per week for half a year and 0 hours per week for the other half. Then the average would be around 2 hours per week.

Thanks for responding!

The difficulty in "Math" is that I do competition math, but my school has no "math team" and the club is just laughable.

And violin, I'm in like 3 orchestras and then I have solo stuff too, and I play in a quartet.

It's just very hard for me to be specific and yet cover all the stuff that I do. I have no clue how to organize (as some would say, package) all this. Even my additional info page is a mess.

So you say something like : "competitive math team member"
violin (play first violin in 3 orchestras including, a community wide one and a high school orchestra in which I'm concertmistress, member of a quartet that I founded, etc. ...)

Well, I'm going the cheap way out and counted my Math and Latin stuff under the "Academic Honors" section (I hope that's where they belong). That leaves so much more room on the EC parts where I split up violin.

Thanks for the advice though!

I think that could possibly work. Good luck :)
