common app question

I've been getting mixed responses to the following question from the commonapp site and friends, so it'd be helpful if I could get a definitive answer (first timer on CC)

I'm applying to Rice U through common app electronically, but when I access the supplementary forms on the college's site, it doesn't allow me to type in anything. So I'm wondering if I should send in the common app online but send the supplement via mail? I know the common app says that all apps and forms should be sent through the same media, but I'm not finding that possible right now... and EA deadline's coming up!

thanksss

Rice's supplement should involve "The Box" in which case it's nearly impossible to fill that portion out electronically. Print the supplement and mail it in.

You weren't clear before, but it sounded like you haven't submitted the common app yet. I'd suggest you submit your common app immediately, if it's ready. You don't have to send both parts simultaneously; however, all required application items (incl. the supplement) must arrive by the deadline.
