For the Common App and the universities supplements is it better to go their maximum or near their words or characters allowed or is it better to be to the point, giving sufficient information?

Thank you!

Bump, I really need some opinions on this. Say if there is a 1500 character max, and I have like 800-900, is that ok? I feel I definitely answered the question completely, I just do not know if the people reading the apps see this as good or bad? Please help, thanks! :)

I think you should just leave it as it is. The essay readers don’t want to read filler. They will probably appreciate essays that get to the point instead of dragging it out.

Being concise is great. If you’ve said all you wanted to say, definitely do not go back and add fluff just for the character count.

Supplements often provide more room than is necessary,

Thank you! :)

It is worth noting that supplements do not include a word count minimum. I expect that adcoms would appreciate brevity.

Leave it as it is. It’s better to be shorter than to be too long or to add filler and bore the adcoms.
