Common app question.

I have recently graduated from high school(international student) and recently my activities have changed,I have recently being involved with writing programs and building websites. Should I include that in the activities section or in the additional information section(writing an essay about it)?

You could include it in both places. Definitely in the activities section, and it could potentially make an essay topic unless you have another idea.

Okay, thanks. So for something like writing programs that I started after high school, what can I put in the section of position or leadership?

It sounds like you’re on a gap year. Are you? If so, there’s a required explanation for that on the CommonApp where you can explain what you’ve been doing (also include why you took the gap year).

@xariel A lot of schools overseas start their year in February/March and end their year in December/January. I don’t think this is a gap year.

I’m not entirely sure if writing a full essay in the additional information section is a good idea, because the additional information section is, well, a place just for additional information. Not an additional essay. You can certainly write an essay about what you did in your college supplements or Common App, however. If I were you, I would just add to my activities section.

Yeah you’re right. However, what participation grade levels am I gonna include?

One of the options for grade levels is PG, meaning “post graduate.” That’s the box to tick for your activities after finishing high school.

Thanks a lot niceday.
