Hello CCers,
I am confused about the Bio. info in common app and MyMIT. My mother remarried after my biological father deceased and my step-father is not my legal guardian. On the "Father" section of the common app and MyMIT, I am more comfortable to put down information about my biological father. But, will that confuse the admission officers though? Afterall, my mother is remarried. Thanks.

Your mother’s husband is not your father (legally), and you say you don’t consider him you father (other than legally), so I would put your biological father’s info. They will figure it out. Many people have re-married parents.

On the application, you list your biological parents. It is on financial aid forms such as the FAFSA that having a step-father matters.
