Kid will file an app next fall. As I recall from Kid 1, Common App asks for extracurricular and then a # hours/week. How do you respond to this question when the extracurricular is seasonal. 25 hours/week for 3 months—but only 3-6 hours a week the rest of the time. There is no place to elaborate.
