Common APp question

Do we have to report every SAT score that we have takeN??

If we are retaking a test.......do we have to listthe scores that were recieved or do i justput TO BETAKEN

Yes, you have to report every single score.

If you don't list them on the Common App, the colleges will still get all of your scores from CollegeBoard anyway.

bad017 - That's not true.

Your scores are YOUR scores and College Board cannot release them unless you give CB specific authorization to do so. Only colleges that you have told CB to sent your scores to will receive your scores. So if you do not put the SAT scores down on your Common App and you do not authorize College Board to send the scores to them, that particular college will not know your scores or even that you took the test.

Many students take both the SAT and the ACT, since most schools will accept either. Then, if one score is much better then the other, they only send the higher score.

^^I called the collegeboard the other day because of what I read from one of the college admission books about score choice for SAT and they confirmed that you cannot score choice for SAT. If you send a college your SAT scores, they get all the scores. However, I have not looked at the CommApp yet, I believe you don't have to list all your SAT scores, you can just list the 2 highest scores, unless some schools require certain subject scores like MIT(2 science subjects, or something similar).

It's true, if you choose to rely on your ACT score and don't ask CB to send your SAT scores at one college, they will not find out your scores. But there are some colleges that require SAT IIs even if you send them the ACT score, so a score report from CB has to be sent, and it cannot be sent without the SAT I.
