I’m really stressed about asking teachers for recs. My current english teacher (right now I’m a junior) already agreed to write one, and I’m planning on asking my previous english teacher (whom i had earlier in junior year) . People usually seem to ask for a letter of recommendation from one humanities teacher and one math/science teacher, but math and science are my worst subjects, and at the best, I am only average grade-wise.
Will it work against me if colleges realize that both of my recommendation letters are from English teachers? I’m applying to either liberal arts schools like Oberlin or state schools that don’t require any recs. I always like my english teachers the best and I feel like they know me more as a person than my other subject teachers, because they’ve read my personal writing.
Some people have suggested that I wait until early senior year, but my school stresses juniors to ask their teachers in the spring to give them enough time.
