Common app recommendations through naviance???

I’m about to submit teacher recommendation requests through naviance, but all of the schools I’m applying to are through the common app, so I need the common app recommendation form filled out. Will my teachers be able to see this once I send in my naviance requests? Do I need to provide them with digital copies of the form? I’m worried they’ll just see “recommendation request” and then write a whole letter instead of filling out the form.
Thanks!

Yes. Here’s how it works in my school:

I write the letters and upload them onto Naviance.

Then I go to the Common App site, and find your file. I upload the same letter onto the Common App. And, as long as it’s after August 1st, I then answer each of the questions I’m asked to ask for each of the kids I’m writing for.

But please speak to each of your teachers tomorrow-- don’t just fill out the request on Naviance. Those particular teachers may have reservations about writing you a letter, or commitments that prevent them from doing one at this point in time. If you’re asking for this big a favor, please do it in person. Likewise, please supply each with a resume/ brag sheet of some sort. The odds are good that your school already has one that you probably filled out last spring.
If not, then tonight please come up with a resume that lists your activities, awards and accomplishments.

So they’ll be both writing the letter of recommendation and filling out the accompanying questions on the Common App, not just answering the questions.

Thanks so much for the clarification! I already spoke to teachers and provided resumes earlier today and I just sent it my requests. I’m a pretty big worrywart so I really appreciate the validation.

No problem. Good luck!
