Common App Release

So I am a Junior entering into second semester but I am already fretting about college. Anyways, being class of 2014 (thus entering college fall 2014) I was wondering when the Common App will be released for me so I can start working on it immediately.

Calm down! It’s junior year and your time is better spent figuring out your interests and college choices. Take college visits, attend information sessions , take your standardized tests, do well in school and add extracurriculars you love. When I was a junior I certainly was not ready to do applications AT ALL with good reason, my essay would not have been as passionate or mature.
To answer your question, it isn’t released until around August 1 2013. Seniors aren’t even finished applying, so common app hasn’t created a reformatted site for next year. I don’t want to sound brusque, but I don’t want to see another student thinking that 20 colleges they barely know about is a good set of choices.
Best of luck with everything!

The Common App won’t open until August, and it’s supposed to be really different. I would focus on school work and taking the SAT/ACT. If you REALLY want to start college stuff, you could look into schools and majors that interest you :). The summer after your junior time would be a great time for college visits.

You can make a common app account now just to see how it works. But, don’t bother filling anything in because it’ll disappear when next year’s app comes up in August.
