Common App Responds to Score Choice

There have been a lot of questions on this site about how to complete the Common App when you have different colleges asking for different scores and whether it is ethical to omit some or all scores when filling in the Tests section. Here's word directly from Common App itself, as reported in the New York Times:

There's also some new info in the Common App support center:

"Some of my colleges permit use of Score Choice, but others do not. I am not sure which scores to include in the Tests section of my application.

Common App member institutions establish their own testing requirements, and it is your responsibility to submit official results of any and all required tests.

We recognize that you may find yourself in a position where some of your colleges require you to report your full testing history while others permit you to report your scores selectively or withhold them entirely. While the Tests section does not offer you the ability to differentiate your score reporting to reflect conflicting requirements, leaving this section blank or incomplete will not prevent you from submitting your application. Please understand, however, that colleges and universities may use the information provided in the Tests section to assist in the processing of an application before official results arrive. Regardless of how you choose to complete this section, self-reporting scores on The Common Application will not fulfill a college's testing requirement."
