I think I remember post(s) from some time ago that explain how to deal with "spacing issues" for want of a better term. For example, how do you fill out the academic honors section that provides only 3 lines if you have more than 3 honors? Similarly, where do you insert a resume or a description of ec, etc. activities? I haven't been able to locate the post(s). If anyone recalls such a post and could link to it, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Don't know about the post, but I can tell you how my D handled it. She filled out the common app on line but chose to print it out and snail mail it. She attached an "activities resume" which split her activities into 3 different sections and then gave a little explanation about each activity, what her role in those activities was, what leadership positions/honors she held/received in each activity.

The key is to organize and consolidate your activities so don't feel the necessity to put down everything done during high school. Focus on the important stuff and put some meat on the bones in the descriptions of those activities.

The essays are another great place to direct attention to certain passions.

As for putting more info about academic honors on the app, look for ways to consolidate (Student of the year (9-12), for example). Once again, decide what is REALLY important.

You can include an "acitivites resume" online as well - just put it on the "additional info" page.

ellenemope's advice about what to include is excellent.

I just took a look at the Academic Honors section of the Common App, and there is quite a bit of room there -- far more than 3 lines and room for far more than 3 honors. Are you sure you're looking at the right slot, Schoolmarm2?
