Any news on how common app is affecting this years application numbers?

EA is way up from what I've heard. They are expecting an extra 3,000 at least for both EA and RD. Go figure. :-(

It sucks; lots of schools are seeing that because every one is so terrified this year due to the volume of applicants.

Today I had a terrifying experience. I get home and see an envelope from Notre Dame. I'm excited until I realize how thin it is.

Turns out it wasn't a rejection letter; just ND saying they looked forward to reviewing my app. Phew. (For now.)

with ND it will be a packet if you are accepted... an envelope if denied... :(((

Or deferred...

Envelope doesn't mean guaranteed failure.

where did you hear that mooseman?

My local ND rep told me. She covers New England and she told me at my school about two weeks ago when she was visiting.

true it doesn't mean a guaranteed failure... but i'd go with a 90% chance of deferral or denial

every time i see an envelope from ND i freak out... both my parents are alums and my brother is a current student, so we get stuff from ND all the time...

when my letter comes i probably won't even see it. :(

unless it's big, of course
