I feel that my SAT II scores (770 Math II, 750 Bio, 740 US History) are an anomaly on my otherwise strong application. About two weeks before taking the tests, I found out that my dad had cancer; therefore, I spent my time with him instead of practicing for the tests. Should I add this in the additional information section? I really feel I could have could have gotten perfect scores on the tests if I hadn't been so busy (I got 5 on all the AP tests and my teachers actually told me not to study). Would this be inappropriate or would it sound like I was making excuses?

Thanks for the help and wish me luck in admissions!

Lol, they aren't as good as mine, but it's not worth mentioning lest you sound petty... I mean 770 on math isn't genius level but it's in no way going to hurt you, especially if you got 5's.

yeah, thats not cool, especially when (assuming) many of us are applying with high hopes and not anywhere close to those test scores. acceptance is about so much more than test scores, especially when you're applying to a school like williams. maybe if you're applying to some number-based state school like PSU, they'd care, but i highly doubt that small difference matters here. get the well-rounded extra cirriculars and write a great essay, and as long as your test scores are decent, you'll challenge for the same spot that someone with 800's and two ec's will be vying for. hopefully you've got some of these because lord knows they will not be impressed with those scores. :-P
