Common App says I submitted my application TOMORROW December 2, 2013

What the hell is this crap? Why does it say this? Will my application still be considered?

The deadline is today December 1, 2013

Here's a pic.

And if you look elsewhere (I can’t remember exactly where at the moment), it will show the exact date and time your app was submitted. The system does know when the app was submitted, and it will be treated as timely. It’s unnerving, I know . . . but you don’t need to worry. :)

The reason for that is that the Common App uses Greenwich time zone, as opposed to the US time. So, if you look at the time when you submitted your app, and then convert it to Greenwich, you’ll see that it’s after midnight. I have no idea why the Common App uses Greenwich, but it’s up to them. And I’m pretty sure that your app will still be considered - the same happened to me with U of M, but I still qualified for Early Action although my app was technically submitted November 2.

Actually, The Common App uses Eastern Time https://appsupport.commonapp.org/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=1629&hitOffset=74+47+46+17&docID=4011</a> . It started with 15 Eastern colleges back in 1975, so that makes sense. Follow the instructions in the link to see your submission time.

Ooh, thanks for an actual link with an explanation. I couldn’t find one. But it says at the bottom, “On the Dashboard, the date you see may be slightly different; this is because the date that you see is displayed based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is 5 hours ahead of ET.” This is the one I was talking about - as you can see in the picture the OP posted, the “December 2” date comes from the dashboard, where the time is in UTC (which is the same as Greenwich for the most part).
