COMMON APP SAYS I SUBMITTED PAST DEADLINE. I didn't.

Okay, so I waited until the last hour before midnight CST (Chicago time, I checked!) to submit my supplement because I wanted to make sure everything was spotless and perfect, and also because I saw the Optional Essay and was like "Hey, why not?" and got carried away doing that for an hour.

Anyways, I submitted my supplement (everything else was already done) at what should have been 10:53 PM Chicago time on January 3rd, the deadline. I technically should have had until 11:59 PM Chicago time on January 3rd, right?

Well, the Supplement says it was submitted on 01/04/2012. What the hell, man? Last I checked, the only way this is possible is if Chicago is on the East coast with EST time zones. It's not. It's CST.

I want to rectify this somehow because it's just...well, wrong. Incorrect. Is there a way to explain or fix this? And if not, will this kill my chances at U Chicago?

Chicago is on CST, common app is on EST. You are fine.

Yeah. I had 5 minutes of being angry / freaking out, and then I read this on their official website:

“Technically, our application deadline is January 3rd at 11:59 CST. However, don’t stress out about the “time stamp” on your application. UChicago downloads forms from the Common Application and sometimes these downloads occur after the deadline. Regardless of this timestamp, your application will not be considered “late.””

These guys are such bosses. I love them already. Cheers, Chicago…
