The short answer on the common app wants you to write about your most meaningful EC. My personal statement revolves mostly around my most meaningful EC (actually a particular experience related to jazz, my main EC). How do you think I should approach this?
<p>i have the same question! supposedly it's bad to repeat info by writing about the same thing in both places, but then wouldn't it appear contradictory if i wrote about something i loved in the essay and then put down something else as my most meaningful EC?</p>

<p>When my D did the "meaningful activity" essay, she did not center it on her most favorite activity (she does several ECs that are lifelong passions). Rather she told a story that took place in one of her activities and that story showed certain things about her as a person. It took place in soccer but I would NOT say that soccer was her most meaningful or favorite activity and this was not truly a "soccer" essay. I would write about a meaningful experience you have had in one of your activities and I also would make it differ or show new sides of you than your other essay.</p>
<p>My D wrote about the same activity in both but aded different things about it. They were the same but different. As long as you don't write the same content you are OK</p>
<p>I applied to Yale EA over snail mail. It was not until like two weeks later that i realized that I left this thing blank. I suspect that the adcom may not even look at this but if he does then I am as some people say fried.</p>

<p>Good choice, you have the opportunity to showcase a couple of activities, so that route sound the better choice, but I'm sure it's hard.</p>
